new beginnings and how I opened the shop

I thought I'd share with you the story of how I launched this shop.

Every winter I take trains through some far away snowy landscapes. This year I went to Belgrade, Serbia and whilst spending hours on slow trains I made a New Year's resolution to be less precious about my work, to try new things, and put them out there even if they are not ready yet, or finished to perfection.

Also in Belgrade, I went into a shop which had the most wonderful, handcrafted items collected from all over Serbia and was run by an inspiring woman my age. And I thought - I'd love to be able to share beautiful things and open a shop too!

So I just did. At the end of last year I've started working with silver. Not in a photographic way as I've done before. Instead, I started making small wearable objects in silver. I've now put all my silver work, including sterling silver jewellery, silver gelatin prints and a few other things I thought you might like on

I wanted to keep the promise I've made to myself to trust my ideas, follow them through and let things take their time, in the spirit of my New Year's resolution. I've never run a shop before, I've only done my first Excel spreadsheets two weeks ago, and although the shop has opened already, I'm still working on it, learning and improving some features.

I'm starting small, but I hope to grow. There will be collaborations with people I admire and a curated section for things I love and collected mainly on my far away travels. It's a process that will take time. This is just the very first, small step into a new direction, and I thought I'd share it with you already.

Feel free to keep checking in to see how things are progressing. I'll be adding new items on a monthly basis. If you'd like to receive occassional updates you can sign up for the shop's mailing list here:
